☼ By definition, Apollo is the Greek god of music, medicine, poetry, dance, archery (not for hunting, note, that's big sis's job), intellectual inquiry (amazing, isn't it?) and the carer of herds and flocks. And, since the lazy-assed Helios never did get up early enough to do his own damned job, Apollo also became known as the god of Light. Someone has to actually have a work ethic in the pantheon, after all.
☼ Apollo's history is long enough to fill several volumes, which this writer will succinctly condense into a simple link, for those just burning with curiosity: go nuts. In a nutshell, however, Apollo is one of the sons of Zeus, who had many wonderful and heroic adventures before finally setting down in Dad's business and getting about with the being godly and amazing.
☼ Personality wise, Apollo's a natural brat. Who wouldn't be, with the world at their fingertips? Besides, he's what writers had in mind when they coined the label "Gary Stu". But, despite his egotistical tendencies and petulant tantrums, he does have a good heart underneath that perfect flesh; he loves and hurts as deeply as any mortal. He's fiercely devoted to his twin sister, Artemis (but gives her shit because he can, ha), but generally has exasperated patience for the rest of his many, many kinfolk.
☼ As previously mentioned, Apollo does have a good work ethic; he does his job and gets a bit peevish when the other gods slack off. Makes his own job harder, doncha know? He has a ferocious temper, as history notes, although it does take quite a bit to rile it. As far as lovers go, Apollo is drawn to spirit, not the flesh which houses it. Known to take both male and female lovers, he pours all of his heart into the pursuit of his chosen, which makes him seem relentless and stubborn in certain aspects.
☼ Because Olympus is basically a breeding ground for temper-tantrums of the gods and all the drama ever in that pantheon, Apollo decided a while back to just move the hell out. One can't work when there are too many distractions, and having to deal with every little crisis that came flouncing down the marbled hallways just became too much for his temper to take. So, he picked up, packed up and moved all his possessions to a small island in the Aegean Sea, where he appropriated a rather nice beach house and currently basks in the adulation of the local natives. Yet despite his lack of proximity to most of his relatives, they never seem to think twice about "popping in" for an impromptu visit.
☼ A while back, Apollo came across a nest of eggs that had somehow washed up on his beach, but only one actually hatched. Out of it came a small green dragon, about the size of a softball. However, Ezmerelda--as Apollo dubbed her--is almost grown and spends her days digging for clams in the sand and fishing out at sea. She also loves to lie on the terrace and nap while Apollo plays, thrumming along with the music. Be warned: she loves people and still believes she can fit into a lap.
About the Mun:
⚵ The mun (usually) writes in prose. Get over it; it's just my thing. Rp partners are of course not expected to follow suit; feel free to tag in whatever style you like. All responses, however, will be in prose. I like my quotation marks, yo.
⚵ The mun is sometimes a slowish tagger. Unfortunately, the job and other real-life things sometimes take precedence over rp-time, but rest assured I will backtag into oblivion. No worries, peeps, I'll get to all tags eventually.
⚵ The mun loves plots and AU's and all cross-overs. I generally don't mind ships, pairings, although my preference is heterosexual by default buuuuut, hey it's Apollo, so. Although I do prefer a certain chemistry between characters before trousers go flying. :)
⚵ The mun is also very approachable and does not mind questions/comments/ideas and other things. Hit me with all the things, bbs! I don't bite, at least not very hard and it's out of love besides.
All that said, c'mon, broskis! Let's go play! <3
